Paul has over 35 years of experience in financial consulting, analysis, planning, tax, treasury management, bankruptcy and litigation support. Paul has been retained as a financial advisor and consultant for public and private companies that were restructured, both in and outside of bankruptcy. He has also served as a court-appointed expert and spent considerable amounts of time working on mergers and acquisitions. Paul has special expertise in Information Technology (IT) (having been in charge of three IT departments), installation of business systems, computerized financial modeling, construction accounting, inventory control and manufacturing costing, as well as a wide range of business insurance and surety.
Prior to joining The Meridian Group, he served in the specially-created role of Vice President of Business Operations for the energy subsidiary of a $1 billion publicly-held company. In this role, he was given broad authority and assisted this subsidiary in achieving a dramatic increase in revenues, profits and cash flow, yielding an 85% return on investment in only three years. Before taking on the Vice President position, he progressively held the positions of Controller, Vice President of Finance, Treasurer, Board Member and Chief Financial Officer of a $160 million group of companies.
Earlier career experiences include acting as CFO for a bank-workout of a $1 billion privately-held conglomerate in the construction (mechanical, electrical, highway, sheet metal), engineering, real estate, manufacturing, healthcare, and oil & gas businesses. Paul was also a Partner with the “Big 8” accounting firm of Touche Ross (now known as Deloitte & Touche).
Paul is a graduate of Duquesne University, holds a M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh and is a CPA.
