Matt Caiazza is a management executive with over 20 years of operations, sales and marketing experience in early stage to middle market companies. He brings an aggressive approach to reducing costs and improving efficiency in order to add value to a client’s bottom line. His experience allows him to provide companies in multiple industries with innovative and cost-reducing ideas that can be implemented quickly and economically.
Prior to joining The Meridian Group, Mr. Caiazza was on the private-equity-led turnaround team of Emess Design Group, LLC, as Vice President of Marketing. Emess is a leading importer of decorative home lighting for major mass and DIY retailers nationwide. In this role he led the efforts to enhance margins and customer profitability throughout the company while starting a new division to help diversify the company away from Big Box retailers and led the companies sourcing efforts into India and Vietnam.
Before joining Emess Mr. Caiazza was General Manager of Atlantic Travel Products/Austin House, a $50 million portfolio company of Cerberus Capital. As part of this turnaround Mr. Caiazza restructured the North American operations of Austin House to allow for faster sales growth and enhanced margins through improved China sourcing and more efficient operations in the company’s domestic warehouses. Upon leaving the company to join Emess the division enjoyed a 25% increase in sales and an almost 10% increase in EBITDA.
After graduating from John Carroll University with a BS in Economics Mr. Caiazza took the reins as President of a family owned confections manufacturing company where he oversaw the growth of the company from one with local distribution to one with international distribution to many of the top retailers in the United States.
